1964 – 2016

TURNER — Penny J. Hudson, 51, of Lewiston passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 16.

She was born in Boston, Mass., on Nov. 3, 1964, the daughter of John and Alice (Cotton) Whirley and had been a resident of this community for most of her life.

Penny was so loved by all who knew her. She was most of all a very proud grandmother.

She was very active and involved in going to her meetings. She had overcome many struggles in her lifetime and was at a very good point in her life.

Penny enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, coloring, listening to music and most of all enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Alice Whirley of Minot; one daughter, Rebecca Hudson and her fiancé, Michael Emond, of Lewiston; one son, Matthew Hudson of Lewiston and is currently attending the University of Maine in Orono; three grandchildren, Nevaeh, Keegan and Bentley Emond of Lewiston; one sister, Tina Whirley Barnies and her husband, Adam, of Lewiston; two nieces, Tieasha Campbell of Lewiston and Kendra Whirley of Auburn; three nephews, James Whirley and Kyle Bellefleur, both of Lewiston, and Shawn Burgess of Augusta; her lifelong friend, Dianne Guy of Auburn; and several aunts and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, John E. Whirley; a sister, Vicki Therrien; a brother, John E. Whirley Jr.; and a niece, Tracy Harris.
