1927 – 2016

GREENE — Dr. Hector (Tony) Arrache, 88, of Greene passed away Wednesday, April 13.

Tony was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on Oct. 31, 1927, the son of Salvador and Otilia. In 1955, he graduated from the University of Mexico with his medical doctorate.

Shortly after, he moved to New England to begin his residency and became an accomplished orthopedic surgeon. He moved to Maine in 1976 to continue practicing medicine, which is where he met and married Patricia Gagne in 1979.

Tony had a true passion for life and anybody who had the pleasure of meeting him could see a mischievous spark in his eye. He truly lived life to the fullest and never left a moment wasted. He was always the first to crack a joke, tell one of his many stories, or impart his philosophies and wisdom. He always knew how to brighten your day.

Tony was an artist who expressed himself in many ways. He enjoyed writing poems, playing piano (though he could never read music) and photography. One of his greatest passions was painting and he created thousands of original pieces over the years that will forever be appreciated by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Greene; children, Monica of Florida, Roberto and wife, Wendy, of Minnesota, Alex and wife, Gezelle, of Oregon, Tony and wife, Lisa, of Kentucky, Ronald and wife, Shelly, of Leeds, and Lisa of Monmouth; and grandchildren, Kimberly, Brandi, Alexandria, Kristin, Isabelle, Rebekah, Vivian, Tristan and Robbie.
