PARIS — Makayla Girouard belted an RBI single in the eighth inning to give Lewiston a 2-1 win over Oxford Hills in softball action Monday. 

Megan Theriault scattered seven hits for the Blue Devils (2-1) to earn the win. Emily Mousseau pounded out two hits for Lewiston, highlighted by a triple. 

Cody Akers went the distance for Oxford Hills (1-2) with three hits allowed. 

Leavitt 5,  Waterville 0

TURNER — Abby Robertson scattered four hits and drew ample run support Monday as Leavitt cruised to a 5-0 win over Waterville. 

Angela Daigle led the Hornets (2-1) with a pair of home runs and three RBIs. Bry Noniewicz also contributed with two hits and two RBIs.

Shelby Place worked the first three frames for winless Waterville (0-3) and was tagged with the loss. 

Edward Little 10, Mt. Blue 3

AUBURN — Sarah Hammond gave up eight hits and struck out seven as Edward Little hustled to a 10-3 win over Mt. Blue in a KVAC contest Monday. 

Grace Beaudet led the Red Eddies (3-0) with three hits and one RBI, while Taylor Depot belted out two hits and drove in a pair of runs. 

Taylor Burke led the Cougars (1-2) with two hits and two RBIs, while Olivia Ryan pounded out two hits including a triple. 

Lisbon 14, Wiscasset 1

LISBON — Alyssa Hall scattered three hits and drew ample run support Monday as Lisbon easily overpowered Wiscasset 14-1 in softball action. 

Brittany Norman led the Greyhounds with three hits and five RBIs, while Hannah Martel also pounded out three hits. 

August Moore went the distance for Wiscasset, while Stephanie Jones scored the lone run on an overthrow to first base. 

Spruce Mountain 7, Gardiner 6

GARDINER — Freshman catcher Julian Doiron made stellar stops at the plate and threw out a runner at third in a tight contest as Spruce Mountain escaped with a 7-6 victory over Gardiner in softball action Monday afternoon.

The Phoenix (3-0) nudged ahead with three runs to make it 6-3 in the fourth inning. Freshman second baseman Haley Turcotte made pivotal plays on defense for Spruce Mountain.

The Tigers (1-1) attempted a come-from-behind effort in the bottom of the seventh. But after plating the first three batters who reached base on a walk and a pair of singles, Gardiner made a series of outs.

Madison 6, Oak Hill 1

WALES — Aly LeBlanc went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and helped the Madison Bulldogs to the 6-1 victory over the Oak Hill Raiders in MVC softball action.

Kayla Bess had a triple in the victory, while Madeline Wood went the distance on the mound.

Oak Hill jumped out to 1-0 after one inning before the Bulldogs (2-0) scored two in the fourth and three in the fifth. Madison added one more in the seventh.

Emma Hlister went 3-for-4 for the Raiders (1-1), while Makayla Nadeau had two hits.

Telstar 13, St. Dom’s 0

BETHEL — Telstar erupted with eight runs in the fourth inning and Tehya Johnson had three hits and drove in two runs as the Rebels beat St. Dom’s 13-0 in a softball game Monday.

Winning pitcher Olivia York tossed a one-hitter, struck out seven hitters and didn’t walk a batter.

Haley Peterson ripped a two-run double and Tasha Hart drove in two runs with her two hits. The Rebels had nine hits for the day.

Gray-New Gloucester 9, Poland 0

POLAND — Cara Waltz and Kaelyn Woods pounded out three hits each to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 9-0 blanking of Poland in WMC softball action Monday afternoon.

The Patriots posted four runs in the first and fifth innings and knocked out 15 hits in seven innings. Haley True pitched the complete game victory for Gray-New Gloucester.

Baseball

Gray-New Gloucester 9, Poland 3

POLAND — Josiah Rottari was perfect at the plate to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 9-3 victory over Poland in baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Patriots added five runs in the fifth inning for an 8-0 lead. John Henry Villanueva, Rottari and Dalton Corthell contributed doubles for Gray-New Gloucester.

The Knights posted 11 hits, though scored only three runs along the way. Gowain Tibbetts, Ben Bernier and Gabe Crosby pitched in with two hits apiece.

Baseball

Leavitt 7, Waterville 3

TURNER — Leavitt erupted for four runs in the fourth inning Monday and came away with a 7-3 victory over Waterville in baseball action. 
 
Nick Angello belted a two-run double to cap that big fourth frame, finishing his day with two hits and two RBIs. Tim Albert also contributed for the Hornets with three hits in the contest. 
 
The Panthers were led by Justin Wentworth with a two-run double in the fourth.
 
Lisbon 11, Wiscasset 5

LISBON — Lucas Francis and Nick Lerette combined for four hits and five RBIs Monday to lead Lisbon to an 11-5 romp over Wiscasset.

Tyler Halls and Austin Fournier also contributed for the Greyhounds with two hits apiece.

Joe Howard led the Wolverines with one hit and two RBIs, while five other players had one hit in a well-balanced effort.

St. Dom’s 13, Telstar 4

BETHEL — Sophomores Gavin Bates and Mack Pelletier cracked a pair of hits each as St. Dom’s cruised to a 13-4 victory over Telstar in baseball action Monday afternoon.

Pelletier started the game in the pitching role, and was supported by Justin Keaney and freshman Riley Volpe in relief for St. Dom’s.

Junior Tanner Wheeler was the only repeat hitter for the Rebels in the losing effort.
