LEWISTON — Police said an Auburn man is charged with stabbing a Lewiston man Sunday.
Jeremy Trudeau, 25, of 92 Bennett Ave. was charged with elevated aggravated assault, Lt. Mark Cornelio said.
Jonathan McLellan, 22, of 125 Pierce St. was treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for lacerations to his forearm, back, shoulder and upper arm that had to be closed with staples, Cornelio said Monday. McLellan was released from the emergency room.
The fight broke out on the sidewalk in front of McLellan’s apartment shortly before 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Two men had known each other and decided to settle a dispute, Cornelio said. Trudeau said he was acting in self-defense.
Trudeau was held Monday at Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn in lieu of $10,000 cash or $500 cash plus a pre-trial supervision contract.
