AUBURN — Community Little Theatre will hold open auditions for Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday, May 15 and 16, at 30 Academy St.

“Beauty and the Beast” is the classic story of a prince transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his cruel and selfish ways and an adventurous young woman whom he imprisons in his castle. The beast must win her love in order to regain his humanity.

Auditions for all roles will include singing, dancing and reading dialogue. Everyone auditioning will be required to fill out an audition worksheet including any scheduling conflicts. For convenience, the worksheet can be found on the theater’s website.

Those auditioning are encouraged to sing a song from the show, and an accompanist will be provided. Those who choose to sing a song from another show must bring their own sheet music. No prerecorded music or singing a capella will be allowed. Those auditioning should also dress appropriately for choreography; character shoes or jazz shoes are preferred.

Auditions are open to all community members. Those auditioning are required to attend only one of the two audition dates. Callbacks will be by invitation, if necessary, and may include further review of singing, dancing and/or reading.

Productions run from Aug. 19 to 28.

Richard Martin is director and light designer; Vincent Ratsavong is assistant director/choreographer. Kay Warren will serve as producer, Paul Caron as music director, Bill Hamilton as set designer, Britny Anderson as set decor, Thomas Anderson as sound designer and Danielle Eaton as publicist.
