PARIS — The Kiwanis Bike Rodeo/Play Day will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Sponsors are Norway-Paris Kiwanis and Oxford Hills Rotary Club.

The event teaches children bicycle safety skills in a family setting. Each child will receive a free helmet along with a safety check of their bicycle.

Local law enforcement personnel will be on hand to help riders learn proper bike safety, and will help run participants through various obstacle courses to hone their skills. Children who complete the course will be entered in a raffle to win a free bicycle.

Oxford Hills Rotarians will offer rope-climbing activities, small race cars, face-painting, balloon animals and tours of PACE ambulance and the Norway Fire Department.

Free food will be served.

The first 200 children will receive free sport packs.

The event will also include a special station for fingerprinting children, sponsored by the Masonic Lodge, and a car seat safety check. Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to provide free hands-on seat inspections.
