LEWISTON — Shankman & Associates, 472 Main St., announces Aubrey Russell and Rebecca Brochu have become partners with the firm.

Russell joined the firm in 2008 and Brochu joined in 1999.

Russell concentrates her practice in family law and landlord/tenant matters. She assisted in the establishment of the Maine Alliance for Drug Treatment Courts and was on its board of directors from 2008 to 2015.

Russell graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine in 2004 and cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2007. During law school she clerked for Judge John Beliveau in the Lewiston District Court. In 2011, she was recognized for excellence as one of New England’s Outstanding Young Lawyers in Family Law. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year from 2011 to 2015.

Brochu specializes in the areas of bankruptcy and family law, including providing services as a guardian ad litem. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 1993 and Western New England School of Law in 1996, receiving her J.D. along with the Excellence for the Future Award: Divorce and the Family.

She is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and Bath-Brunswick Association of which she has also served as vice president and president for several years. Brochu was recently elected and serves as the Maine state chairwoman for the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
