LEWISTON — Darlene Anne (Patenaude) Porter, 67, of Peru passed away Wednesday, May 11, at Central Maine Medical Center, due to complications of a brief illness.

Born in Rumford on July 1, 1948, Darlene was the daughter of Rudolph Arthur and Ethel (Hawthorne) Patenaude. She completed her undergraduate education in Dixfield.

She worked for G.H. Bass & Co. for 25 years and then continued on to work at Community Energy for 23 years.

Darlene was married for 46 years to Arthur Robert “Larry” Porter III, who recently passed Feb. 19, 2016.

Darlene loved to travel with her husband in their motor home, camping on the coast of Bar Harbor and Boothbay Harbor. She also cherished times spent with her two granddaughters, Miranda and Shelby, as well as with her daughter, Debra. Many life lessons and skills were handed down to her “girls” as she would always say, “It will be something to remember me by when I’m gone.”
