1924 – 2016

LEWISTON — Yvonne M. Carville, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, at d’Youville Pavilion with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 15, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Blais) Dallaire.

Yvonne lived at 33 Davis St. for 60 years, moving to d’Youville Pavilion where she spent the last 10 years of her life. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. After high school, she went to the ACME Business College. On June 21, 1947, Yvonne married the love of her life, Wallace Carville, and they shared a loving marriage of 68 years.

She worked at the St. Joseph’s Credit Union as a teller, as well as a homemaker for her family. She had great pride in her home and raising her family. She loved roller skating and was once a member of the Silver Roller’s Club. She enjoyed reading and would read several newspapers on a daily basis. She often experimented with foods, but was known to make a great creton, meat pie, icebox cake and pot roast with yellow potatoes. She was extremely devoted to her husband and they cared for each other up until his passing two months ago.

She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Carville Auger and her son-in-law, Maurice “Moe” Auger, of Alfred; son-in-law, Bill Hanily and his wife, Shirley, of Edison, N.J.; five grandchildren, Michelle Hanily Innocenti and her husband, Rudy, Billy Hanily and his wife, Danielle, Michael Hanily and his wife, Christine, Allyson Auger Birchmeier and her husband, Charlie, and Arin Auger; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Dallaire Gervais of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Irene Carville Martel of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Carville; her parents; her three brothers; her four sisters; and her daughter, Joan Carville Hanily.
