1923 – 2016

LEWISTON — Fernand B. Doyon, 92, of Lewiston died Tuesday, May 24, at Central Maine Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born in Canada on June 28, 1923, the son of the late Archelas and Matilda (Michaud) Doyon and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He married the former Jeannette C. Champagne on Aug. 12, 1946; she died on Feb. 8, 2015.

He was educated in Lewiston schools and was employed in several lumber yards and mills until his retirement.

He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army and was awarded several medals.

Fernand enjoyed very much meeting his buddies at McDonald’s in Auburn. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He was a member of the American Legion and was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Lock and her husband, Ron, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Michelle Poulin and her husband, Roger, of Lewiston, Dan Lock and his companion, Kristine Soucy, of Lewiston and Darren Lock and his companion, Laura Bandura, of Houston, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Erica and Ryan Webber, both of Lewiston; one sister, Florence Hasty and her husband, Kermit, of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Maurice Doyon and his wife, Alice, of Rocky Hill, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
