1959 – 2016

MEXICO — Lea Mae Walker, 56, formerly of Somerset Street in Rumford, passed away peacefully at the Fourth Street Home in Mexico, on Thursday, June 2, a place that she loved, and was loved by all the staff that came to know her.

She was born in Rumford on Oct. 10, 1959, a daughter of Mary Walker and Joseph W. Gallant.

Lea loved participating in all of the Day Programs at the Hope Association, most especially her weekly trips to “GRAMPS” and Walmart.

She had a strong opinion when it came to politics, and has made trips to the State Capital in Augusta and the White House in Washington, DC.

Lea loved her tea and especially her chocolate cake, and she loved making nurses caps. She also loved to write letters and each day she would wait for the mailman to send off her letters. Lea loved watching “General Hospital” and the Beverly Hillbillies, singing, taking long rides and trips to the Dairy Queen.
