CORINNA — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department has identified a Maine boy who was killed in a dog attack over the weekend.

Police said Monday that 7-year-old Hunter Bragg of Bangor was playing with two other kids in a yard when an unregistered male pit bull attacked.

Officials say the dog owner and boy’s father were inside the Corinna residence when the attack happened.

The boy died at the scene Saturday evening, and the dog was euthanized at the request of the owner.

Officials say they continue to investigate the events leading to the boy’s death. No one else was injured in the incident.
