Registration open for Mad Science Camp
TURNER — Registration remains open for Reaction in Action Mad Science Camp, which takes place the week of Aug. 8.
Campers ages 6 to 12 can become mad scientists as they explore bubbling potions, cool chemical reactions, slimy polymers, color-changing liquids, dry ice bubbles and even solids that disappear in an instant.

Ranked-choice voting presentation
BUCKFIELD — FairVote Maine will make an educational presentation on ranked-choice voting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Zadoc Long Free Library.
The presentation will explain how ranked-choice voting works, and will demonstrate how to use ballots and show tabulation. A question-and-answer session will follow.
It is open to the public.
Kevin Mannix at library meeting
LOVELL — “Weathering Shame” co-authors Kevin Mannix and Linda Rota will be the guest speakers at the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library’s annual meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.
During the annual meeting, board President Dell Foss will present the year’s new trustees.
New exhibit at forestry museum
RANGELEY — The Maine Forestry Museum will hold an opening celebration to kick off the 2016 season and share a new exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at 221 Stratton Road.

Library hosting Ellen Cooney
WAYNE — Author Ellen Cooney will speak at the Cary Memorial Library at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at 17 Old Winthrop Road.
Cooney has taught creative writing at Boston College, Northeastern University, and has published stories in the New Yorker and other literary journals.
A reception at the Williams House across from the library will follow the program. Light refreshments will be served.
The event is free and open to the public. The library is wheelchair-accessible.

Strawberry Festival June 26
MINOT — West Minot Grange will hold its annual Strawberry Festival from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26.
Desserts include pies, shortcakes, sundaes and beverages.
Admission is $5 per person, and $2 for children younger than 12.
