PARIS — With two outs in the bottom of the first inning, Bessey Motors strung together five hits and scored six runs, three of which came off the bat Jake Spinhirn, as Bessey Motors rolled over Smith Tobey 11-0 in an American Legion baseball game Thursday.
Bessey scored two in the second inning and one in the third and fourth inning to close out the game in five innings. Spinhim drove in five runs.
Bessey Motors’ Brady LaFrance pitched a complete-game two-hitter to earn the victory. Smith Tobey’s Isaiah Cogswell and Taylor Shaw each had a hit.
Gardiner 8, Franklin County 1
FARMINGTON — Eli Fish had two hits and three RBIs to lead Gardiner to an 8-1 win over Franklin County in American Legion baseball Thursday.
Fish and Jonah Martin each had home runs. Martin and Nick Sanborn each had a pair of hits.
Gardiner built a 3-0 lead with single runs in three of the first four innings and then broke the game open with five in the fifth.
