PARIS — Celebration Barn Theater will present award-winning storyteller Martin Dockery’s latest performance, “The Exclusion Zone,” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.

Traveling through a no man’s land that’s straight out of a Russian sci-fi movie, Dockery searches for a legendary room with special powers in this funny, true story. Geoff Dyer’s “Zona” and Andrei Tarkovsky’s “Stalker” are Dockery’s only guide as he journeys to the irradiated ghost-city of Chernobyl in pursuit of art and inspiration.

Dockery has won Best of Fest awards at theater festivals in Vancouver, Ottawa, New York, Orlando, London, Toronto, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Victoria, San Francisco, and Adelaide. He’s performed at The Melbourne Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and twice headlined the London Storytelling Festival in England.

Celebration Barn will also present Dockery’s “Wanderlust” during the Norway Arts Festival at noon Saturday, July 9. “Wanderlust” is a true story about a five-month trek to West Africa in search of an epiphany. Any epiphany.

The presentation of “Wanderlust” is the third in a series of Celebration Community Events being produced throughout Oxford Hills this summer.

Tickets for “The Exclusion Zone” are available for $14 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 years and older, and $8 for children 17 and younger. All tickets are general admission; members receive priority seating.

Lobby and concessions open at 7 p.m. Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended.
