1944 – 2016

AUBURN — Joyce E. Baillargeon, 72, of Turner passed away Monday, July 4, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, after a courageous 2½-year-battle with cancer.

She was born in Winslow on May 5, 1944, the daughter of the late Roy and Catherine (Morrill) Prentiss.

Joyce graduated from Winslow High School and married Andre H. Baillargeon on Feb. 3, 1968.

Joyce and Andre owned and operated Andy’s Yankee Grocery store for many years, and prior to her retirement she worked for TJ Maxx.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known as “Bebe” to her grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed the ocean, nature, and especially her birds and squirrels. She loved riding with Andre in their Ford Mustang convertible.

She was a lifetime Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Andre C. Baillargeon and his wife, Lisa, of Sebago, and Thomas N. Baillargeon and his fiancée, Vickie Leighton of Georgia; two daughters, Katherine A. Baillargeon of New Gloucester and her significant other, Thomas Diebold, and Rachel E. Baillargeon and her fiancé, Robert Kolodzej, of Gorham; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Emily, Nicole, Ryan and Zachary; four great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Chace, Reagan and Reese; and a godchild, David Baillargeon.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Baker and Pauline Bragg; and one brother, Mahlon Kittredge.
