1933 – 2016
SOUTH PARIS — Peter Charles Collette Sr. of West Paris passed away Sunday, July 3, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris.
He was born in West Paris on Feb. 14, 1933, the son of Charles “Pete” and Hazel Collette. Peter graduated in 1952 from West Paris High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
He was a past commander of the Foster-Carroll American Legion Post No. 72 in South Paris. He owned and operated Trap Corner Garage for many years and later worked for Oxford Hills School District in the motor vehicle division. He loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and working in the great outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise; children, Bradley, Bruce, Peter Jr., Tania and Barry; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Bryan.
