Elks holding Chinese auction 

RUMFORD — The Rumford Elks Lodge will have a Chinese auction Wednesday, July 13. Items are on display at the lodge, and the drawing will be held at 7 p.m.

The auction is open to members and guests.

Advertiser Democrat editor at AARP

PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet at noon on Monday, July 18, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.

The program will feature Ann Sheehan, editor at the Advertiser Democrat.

A chicken lunch will be served at noon for $7, and reservations are required by Friday, July 15.

The business meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. Donations will be taken for the local food pantry and the book/puzzle swap will continue.

Conjuring Carroll at PPL

PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host Conjuring Carroll, at 2 p.m. Friday, July 15, in the Forum of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Carroll Chapman, “Conjuring Carroll,” has been performing magic since 1995. In 2002, he began performing full time and earned his Doctor of Magic from the International Magicians Society in 2006.

The performance is made possible by the Library’s Friends’ group, the Seneca Club.
