ANSWER: Slim Fast has yet to remove those particular snack bars from their website and, according to the corporate website, you can find them locally at the following national retailers: Wal-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens and Rite Aid. You can also order them online at Amazon.com. However, all of those sources list the bar as being out of stock for an undetermined length of time and for unknown reasons.

Sun Spots was unable to find specific information about why that is the case, however, in her research she did note that there is a nationwide voluntary recall on certain products containing peanut butter due to a recent salmonella and/or listeria outbreak that is currently under investigation. A similar product, the Atkins Day Break Peanut Butter Fudge Crisp Bar, was listed as part of a recall in early June.

With any luck, your Slim Fast bars will reappear soon. Keep watching for them.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you in advance, we are asking for your help in locating someone who can repair electric wheelchairs. We have heard that there is someone on Pleasant Street in  Lewiston who does this, but do not know who or exactly where he/she is. We are in hopes that this person or someone else with this expertise will see this request and respond to Sun Spots, or directly to us at (207) 753-0337. If there is no answer, please leave a message. We appreciate your response. — Ray, No Town.
