AUBURN — City Council workshop and regular meeting in the City Council Chamber on the second floor of Auburn Hall. The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. and topics include a plan to formalize timber-harvesting on city land, collecting city ambulance charges and selling tax-acquired property. The regular meeting at 7 p.m. includes workshop topics and changing a cellphone tower agreement.

LEWISTON — Meeting to review service changes to home telephones in 22 Maine communities at 6 p.m. in City Hall. Local phone companies will no longer have to offer the bare-minimum Provider of Last Resort service in Lewiston and Auburn beginning in August. The same change will roll out to other large Maine communities during the next five years.

AUBURN — The Auburn Community Concert Band, conducted by Milt Simon, will continue its 35th season at 7 p.m. in Festival Plaza with the program “Let’s Dance!” The performance is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the event will move to The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco-American Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston.

LEWISTON — Lewiston Police Department Outside Movie Night, “The Sandlot” begins at 8:30 p.m. at South Lewiston Ball Park. Youth and family activities will be held before the movie. Free. Popcorn provided by police officers.

THURSDAY, July 14

AUBURN — Meeting of the City Council’s Finance and Administration committee, 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room on the second floor of Auburn Hall.

AUBURN — Auburn Board of Assessment Review hearing on an appeal of property taxes by Auburn Cascades Fiber at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chamber on the second floor of Auburn  Hall.

AUBURN — Auburn Recreation’s Movies in the Park continues with “Hotel Transylvania 2” at 9 p.m. in Festival Plaza on Main Street. Free. Bring a blanket, pillow and/or low chairs.
