LEWISTON — Albert Melton will serve as guest organist at a concert at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash St.
Melton is cathedral musician at Saint Luke’s Cathedral in Portland, where he is organist. He directs the Cathedral Choir and coordinates Music in the Cathedral, St. Luke’s annual music series. He often organizes music for diocesan services and events. Before coming to Portland, he was director of music at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Albany, N.Y. A native of Newport News, Va., Melton holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and Northwestern University.
He is a member of the Program Advisory Committee and the Advisory Board, as well as a former member of the board of directors of the Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ.
Concert is free and open to the public.
