1970 – 2016

JAY — Kellee J. Fortier, 46, a resident of Jay, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 12, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1970, in Lewiston, the daughter of Robert and Roseann (Field) Richmond. Kellee was a 1988 graduate of Jay High School and in 1992 she received her teaching degree from the University of Maine at Farmington.

On June 27, 1992, she married Tom Fortier in Livermore Falls. Kellee currently worked for Spruce Mountain Middle School as a seventh- and eighth-grade math teacher, and was a former fifth- and sixth-grade math teacher for the Jay school department. Kellee was devoted to her students and worked as a teacher and cheering coach for more than 20 years. She was a member of the MEA and NEA. She enjoyed camping, cooking, doing crafts and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother and father, Bob and Rosie Richmond; her husband of 24 years, Thomas Fortier; daughters, Hayley Fortier and Shae-Lynn Fortier, all of Jay; her brother, Allan Richmond and his fiancée, Diane Cronin of New Hampshire; and her grandfather, Edward Field and his wife, Louise, of Livermore Falls; father- and mother-in-law, Romeo and Annette Fortier of Jay; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Susan and Kevin Bell of Winthrop; Rick and Riitta Fortier of Westbrook; and Dennis Fortier and Elisabetta Mariotti of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Mary Field and Palmer and Addie Richmond.
