1957 – 2016

LEWISTON — Scott A. Bubier, 58, passed away in Lewiston on Friday, July 8, surrounded by friends and family after a lifelong struggle with type 1 diabetes. He faced his daily struggles with acceptance and courage.

Scott was born in Lewiston on Nov. 10, 1957, to Walter and Margaret Bubier. He was raised in Sabattus and graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1976.

Scott was a sports enthusiast from a very young age and was active in hockey, baseball, basketball, bowling, golf and football. He was a fan of all sports, but especially enjoyed the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed socializing and made friends easily. Scott also had an extensive collection of music which he enjoyed listening to and loved attending concerts.

He held various jobs in his lifetime but most notable was at McCann Realty where he was recognized for $1 million in sales. Most recently he retired from Bath Iron Works where he worked as a pipefitter.

In 1983, Scott married Holly Stoodley and they had three beautiful daughters.

He is survived by his daughters, Shanon (and Scott) Logan of Portland; Jennipher Rice of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Elizabeth (and Brent) Crowe of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Eliana Logan; his parents, Walt and Marge Bubier; sister, Lisa Bubier; former wife and dear friend, Holly Bubier of California; and many extended family and friends.
