GREENE — Steven Alan Dyer, 57, of Greene died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 20.

He was the son of David and Norma Dyer. He was raised in Cumberland Center and graduated from Greely High School in 1977. He continued his education at the University of Maine, where he was actively involved in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and earned his degree in civil engineering in 1983.

Following the completion of his undergraduate education, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his four years of service with the U.S. Army, he spent two years stationed in Germany and achieved the rank of segeant. Upon his return to the United States, he obtained his master’s in business administration from Western New England College.

He brought his training in engineering and administration back home to Maine where he worked as a town manager serving the communities of Bowdoinham, Monmouth, and Oakland. He most recently has served the SAD 75 community as the school district business manager.

His favorite activities included golfing at Springbrook, boating and fishing on Thompson Lake, hunting with the Good OL’ Boys Huntin’ Club of Monmouth and ice fishing on Androscoggin Lake. He enjoyed travels near and far, from day trips in Maine to cruises around the world.

His most cherished time was spent with family and friends sharing stories and making memories over a nice meal. He was a devoted husband, proud and loving father, and a friend to many. He touched thousands of lives across Maine through his work and hobbies, and he will be deeply missed.

Steve is survived by his wife, Rebecca Laliberte; children, Rebecca A. Dyer and her partner, Stephen G. Spear, of W. Hartford, Conn., David L. Dyer and his partner, Emily C.
