1918 – 2016

POLAND — Emily L. Croxford, 97, passed away peacefully Friday, July 22. She was surrounded by friends and family.

Emily was born on a farm in Auburn on Oct. 6, 1918, but lived the majority of her life in Poland, with her beloved husband, Wilber Croxford, who predeceased her. She was officially the oldest resident of Poland, where she worked many years for the Poland school system.

She was an active member of the Poland Community Church, and took great joy in quilting, knitting, gardening and her family.

She is survived by her son-in-law, James Hall, and his domestic partner, Lynn Bickford, of Yarmouth; her grandson, Steven L. Hall, and his domestic partner, Karen Gorten, of Poland; her grandson, Scott Hall, and his wife, Patty Hall, of Poland; her great-granddaughter, Sarah Ann Hall and her husband, Timothy Edwards, of Honolulu, Hawaii; her great-grandson, Jordan Hall of Poland; their mother, Cheryl Hall of Falmouth; her great-granddaughter, Kathryn Hall and her domestic partner, Zak Bisson, of Oxford; her great-grandson, Gregory Hall of Poland; and her daughter-in-law, Althea Croxford and her husband, Phil Blake, of New Gloucester.

She was predeceased by her son, Dean Croxford; and daughter, Leola Hall.

Emily was dearly loved by the community, her many friends and family. She will be sadly missed by all. Special thanks are to be given to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
