WILTON — Selectpersons will take public comments about an abandoned building at 30 Webb Ave. when they meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Town Office.

The board will consider actions for the town to take after the hearing.

The hearing begins the process of declaring it a dangerous building under state law, according to Town Manager Rhonda Irish.

Code Enforcement Officer Adam Cote and former Code Enforcement Officer Roger Williams brought the property to the board’s attention in June. A public hearing was postponed until Aug. 2.

A tree went through the house, exposing it to the elements, Irish said. Some windows are broken and there is concern about mold, she said. The house is uninhabitable, she said.

In other business, the board will consider amendments to the Property Maintenance Ordinance regarding abandoned buildings.

They will also consider awarding bids for work on Kineowatha Park and Foot of the Lake area retaining walls.
