WILTON — Members of the Wilton Fish & Game Association will host an open house on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 240 Route 2.

Maine Game Warden Kris MacCabe will be on hand with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s Operation Game Thief trailer. Operation Game Thief is a nonprofit organization that works with the department and provides rewards for those who turn in poachers or those who have committed other wildlife offenses.

The association will hold its annual fundraising event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those attending can test their shooting skills with the shooting gallery, shoot a Gatling gun, or try the 1-Shot Gun Challenge.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., basic compound bow archery will be available to try under the direction of Ashley McCormick, certified instructor.

At 1 p.m., Will Sampson will demonstrate how to build a bow.

Those interested may shoot trap with Charlie from 1 to 4 p.m. Those planning on doing so should bring their own ammunition, shotgun, and eye and ear protection.

Food will be served by the youth shooting league.

The group will also have a booth at the Wilton Blueberry Festival on Aug. 5 and 6. Those interested may ask questions about membership. Tickets for the annual fundraiser and wall of guns will be sold.
