DALLAS PLANTATION — An Indiana man suffered serious head trauma Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle went out of control from a possible mechanical failure on Route 16, according to Franklin County Sgt. Nate Bean.
The operator, Ryan Dishner, 41, of Indiana was driving a 1996 black Harley-Davidson east toward Eustis when the motorcycle crossed over the centerline into the oncoming lane, Bean wrote in his report to Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr.
The bike then traveled out of the roadway and crashed into some tall grass and rocks, Bean wrote.
Dishner, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered significant head trauma and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, then to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bean wrote.
