WAYNE — Speaker Mark Rochkind will present “Cambodia and Vietnam: 12th Century Angkor Wat to 21st Century Saigon” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at The Cary Memorial Library.

The presentation will feature his photography and insight from his recent travel to Asia.

“Travels through two neighboring and colorful countries in Southeast Asia reveal very different societies,” Rochkind said. “Both are burdened by tragic histories. While the countrysides in both countries are similar, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is a thriving metropolis with modern skyscrapers and bustling commerce. There is no such city in Cambodia. Nonetheless, in Cambodia, there is peace, little crime, no one is starving, and the people seem generally satisfied.”

The event is free and open to the public. The library is located at 17 Old Winthrop Road. It is handicapped-accessible.
