1922 – 2016

NORWAY — Dorothy E. Moore of Oxford Meadow Apartments, Oxford, and Norway, passed away on Monday, July 25, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of W. Lester Feeny and Doris Feeny. She lived in Auburn and attended Edward Little High School before moving to Norway, where she graduated from Norway High School.

She married W. Aubrey Moore and raised three children, James, Nancy and Carol. They resided on Orchard Street in Norway, where she was a homemaker and enjoyed a large garden. She also worked at the Jack & Jill Shoppe on Main Street in Norway for many years.

She was a loving mother to James, Nancy and Carol, and an amazing grandmother to Jim, Jon and Dan Ladd and Debbie and Mike Mann. She always could be found cheering on her grandchildren at various sporting events. She was also an extra proud great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; son, James; daughter, Nancy; brothers, Lester and Lawrence; and son-in-law, John Ladd.

Dot was a kind and loving grandmother who often made Sunday morning breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon for the grandkids and amazing apple pies in the afternoons. She enjoyed an extra special relationship with her granddaughter, Debbie, often flying around the USA to visit her and her great-grandchildren. She was a longtime Red Sox fan who never missed a game on NESN.

She will be missed by many … and always cherished in our thoughts. Thanks, Grammy Dot!
