AUBURN — Two Monmouth men were indicted Tuesday in connection with the robbery of a Lewiston CVS pharmacy in May.

Dakota J. Madore, 19, of 139 Bonin Road and Troy J. Severance, 36, of 126 Waugan Road were charged by an Androscoggin County grand jury with robbery and stealing drugs, both felonies. Robbery is punishable by up to 10 years in prison; stealing drugs, five years.

Authorities said one of the men entered a CVS store on Sabattus Street on May 4 shortly before 9 p.m. wearing sunglasses, a skeleton mask and a hood over his head.

He showed a note to the pharmacist, demanding oxycodone and saying he didn’t want to shoot anybody. No weapon was displayed.

The pharmacist turned over an undisclosed amount of the drug before the suspect fled on foot, police said. They did not specify whether they believe it was Madore or Severance who went into CVS to commit the robbery.

Authorities from local, state and federal agencies acted on a tip and went to a Winthrop motel, where they arrested Severance. They later tracked down Madore in Wales.

Both men are being held at the Androscoggin County Jail and are scheduled for arraignment on Friday in 8th District Court in Lewiston.
