RANGELEY — Rangeley police are investigating a break-in that occurred sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning at Rangeley Lakes Regional School.
Nothing was taken from the school, but an upstairs room was extensively vandalized, Rangeley Police Chief Russell French said.
The room is not a classroom and is probably used for storage, he said.
School custodians discovered the damage when they got to work early Wednesday morning.
No specific details were released because police are in the early stages of the investigation, he said.
Counterfeit $100
Police are also investigating a separate incident involving a counterfeit $100 bill.
A local business received and deposited the bill at a local bank within the past week or so, he said.
French refrained from providing more information because the investigation.
