1931 – 2016
DIXMONT — Roxine E. Nile, 85, of Dixmont, formerly of Strong, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, at her daughter’s home in Dixmont.
She was born March 4, 1931, in Strong, the daughter of Carroll and Fannie Smith. She attended the schools of Strong before working at Franklin Shoe and G.H. Bass & Co.
She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Roxine was loved by all who knew her.
Roxine is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Ivers and husband, Dana, of Dixmont; son, Mark Nile and wife, Lou, of Strong; five grandchildren, Michelle Simpson of Etna, Christopher Nile of California, Brian Nile of Tennessee, Julie Birch of Pittsfield, and Diana Farrington of Jay; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Jane; son, Michael; and a sister, Myrtle Beedy.

MacFarlane—Peter Karl Died in Lewiston, July 27, 2016. There will be a memorial service at a later date for immediate family.
Nadeau—Mona Maggie Currier Died Aug. 4, 2016. Private family services will be held at the family’s convenience. Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington.
Nile—Roxine E. Died Aug. 3, 2016. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 am. A gathering will take place after the service at the Old North Church, 118 High St., Farmington. Those wishing may make donations to help Farmington Lions Club with Eye Care, c/o Mike Cook, P.O. Box 549, Farmington, Maine 04938. Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington.
