LEWISTON — Monica Millhime will be guest speaker at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18.

Millhime has been affiliated with the Rotary for 30 years. She will share the principles of ACT — Aspirations, Commitment and Transitions — as it relates to her business and education classification.

A native of New Jersey, she started her 30-year corporate career at the Sun Journal as a graphic designer, aspiring to advertising manager/department head.

Millhime was an integral part of the Diversification Team as the Explore Maine new media director. She served as vice president of salesand marketing for Northeast Data Solutions and as franchise dealer for Valpak of Maine.

She served as Maine’s first woman president of the New England Newspaper Advertising Executive Association before leaving the Sun Journal to complete a degree in education.

She was a substitute teacher in Lisbon, before transitioning to districtwide community resource coordinator. She focused on marketing, grant writing, adviser capacities for students, the yearbook and co-curricular programs.

Millhime currently works with Western Maine Community Action at the Lewiston CareerCenter as an employment and training business specialist, developing and coordinating projects with Ready2Work and on-the-job training programs.

Millhime serves on the Rotary board as program chair and as a Paul Harris fellow.
