LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education and the Lewiston CareerCenter will provide an office certificate training program with a customer service focus.

The program will begin Sept. 19. Participants will earn the state-approved WorkReady credential. They will receive extensive training in the essential skills needed for an entry-level position in an office setting, including: keyboarding, data entry, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, Microsoft Calendar, office management tools and effective communication skills.

Participants will have the opportunity to job shadow with a local employer. Upon completion of the program, participants will have a guaranteed interview with Bonney Staffing.

Anyone interested in this program should contact Lewiston Adult Education. Candidates will be scheduled to complete CASAS testing. Orientations and interviews are scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Lewiston High School, 156 East Ave., and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 31, at B-Street, 57 Birch St.

To be accepted to the program, candidates need to provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in math and reading through the CASAS assessment, and successfully complete the orientation and intake/interview. In addition, participants will need to be able to show a six-month work history and current work authorization.
