ANSWER: Sun Spots agrees that understanding your choices regarding health care insurance can be confusing, but fortunately, there are groups out there that can help you and others in your situation. Consumers for Affordable Health Care is one such service. In addition to providing you with information on MaineCare and the Health Insurance Marketplace programs, they offer a helpline to help you identify programs that may assist you with finding affordable health insurance or ways to mitigate the cost of accessing health care services directly, such as helping you find programs for prescription drugs, primary and preventative care and emergency care. Call their helpline at 1-800-965-7476 for more information.

Since the Affordable Care Act was implemented, Maine has developed a list of certified marketplace “navigators” who help folks find their way through the network of providers and policies offered through the program. You can access a complete list of navigators by visiting enroll207.com. There are a number of local options, including Western Maine Community Action with locations in Auburn, Lewiston and South Paris. You can reach them by calling 1-855-806-7333. Another option for assistance is at DFD Russell Medical Center in both Leeds and Turner. You can contact them by calling Tia Knapp or Cami Warren at (207) 524-3501.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you so much for your wonderful column. I read it daily. I found a library card in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I saw the lady drop it. If the person would call me at 784-1817, then I would be happy to mail it to her. The name on the card is Crystal Cloutier. — MJB, Lewiston.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In answer to the person asking for help with Windows 10, my friend and I took an Adult Ed class this spring at our local high school. We each had bought Windows 10 to update our computers. The course was a complete waste of time. This is the second time we have done this, and did not feel that we got our money’s worth. The first time, most of us were able to use the computer but wanted to enhance our skills. The person started out with showing us how to cut and paste. The second time, we were to bring questions and we never got them answered. We were told that they don’t teach like they used to with the lecture process. So don’t waste your money. — No Name, No Town.

ANSWER: It’s a good idea to talk with the local Adult Ed program, and possibly the instructor, prior to signing up for the class to ensure it will cover the material you hope it does.
