MEXICO — The Board of Selectmen is accepting nominations for the town’s annual Night of Appreciation banquet.

The following categories are part of this year’s ceremony:

Employee of the Year: The award will be presented to a full-time employee who provides services to the community in the most exemplified way and who provides efficient, friendly and prompt service to the general public.

Part-time/Reserve Employee of the Year: This award will be presented to a part time, reserve or call-man who provides services to the community in the most exemplified way and who provides efficient, friendly and prompt service to the general public.

Volunteer of the Year: This award will be presented to a citizen who has been involved in the community with extensive volunteerism throughout the year in any way. Michael Mann won the award last year.

Citizen of the Year: This award will be presented to a citizen who has accomplished a task within the community that has touched the lives of many or something that has created a positive effect within the town. Last year’s recipient was Crystal MacKinnon, who serves as treasurer on the board of trustees for the Mexico Sewer District.

Written nominations specifying the award must be submitted by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, to the Mexico Board of Selectmen, P.O. Box 251, Mexico, ME 04257.
