1952 – 2016

WESTBROOK — Edward C. Moulton, 64, of Westbrook, died Friday afternoon, Aug. 26, in the comfort of his home under VNA Hospice care, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 23, 1952, in Bangor, a son of Robert M. and Virginia (Krull) Moulton. He ran track in high school and was a 1970 graduate of South Portland High School. He graduated in 1974 from the University of Maine in Orono where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and was a proud member of Phi Eta Kappa fraternity.

For 10 years he was employed at FXJanelle in Scarborough and in 1981 began his career at Ascanio Painting and Decorating in Portland, later purchasing the company and co-owning it for nine years with Dick Bemis, retiring in 2014.

His family thanks the wonderful, supportive, loving care by the VNA Home Health and Hospice nurses, especially Sheila Campbell, Emily Blake and social director, Hope Chrupcola.

He is loved by his wife, Susan (Grimaldi) Moulton, whom he married on Sept. 25, 1982, of Westbrook; their daughter, Katie Thomson and her husband, Matt, of Lebanon, N.H. and their newborn daughter, Skylar Thomson; their son, Joseph Moulton of Westbrook; two brothers, William Moulton and his wife, Beth, of Cumberland and Donald Moulton and his wife, Jodi, of Portland; two sisters, Barbara Frey and her husband, Gus, of Bangor and Dorothy Woods of Portland; his in-laws, Joseph and Erma Grimaldi of Jay; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was predeceased by his parents.
