BETHEL — The 30th Annual Leon Truman Chamber Golf Classic was held Monday, Aug. 8, at the Bethel Inn Resort with 108 golfers hitting the links. More than 20 golfers walked away with prizes in hand thanks to several donations from Chamber member businesses.

The closest to the pin winners were Ryon Truman with an 8’1″ and Janet Nelson with a 22’4″. Nelson also had the longest drive for the ladies with a 292-yard drive. Matt Michaud had the longest drive for the men with a 318-yard drive.

Winning the putting contest and a 39-inch flat-screen television donated by the Oxford Wal-Mart was Neil Chase. The on-the-green winner was Brian Nolan; he walked away with a stay-and-play package from the Bethel Inn Resort. The casino hole winner was the Infinger Insurance team with three jacks. The team won four rounds of golf from the Poland Spring Resort.

Several of the low gross and low net winners had the same score, so ties were broken with matching score cards. The low net winners were the La Quinta Inn team with a 57. Coming in second was the Bethel Inn team with a 58 and third place went to the Twin City Financial Group team, also with a 58. The low gross winner and recipient of the tournament’s trophy was the Jasaik Group with a 57. Coming in second was the Wal-Mart team, also with a 57 and third place went to Chalmers Insurance Group, with a 57.

The 2017 tournament will be held at the Poland Spring Resort. More information will be available at the start of 2017. Visit the Chamber online at www.oxfordhillsmaine.com or on Facebook for the latest information.
