SABATTUS — Five people were arrested Thursday, charged with growing marijuana on the property at 69 Lisbon Road.

Police said they seized more the 80 marijuana plants, 50 cloned plants, marijuana processing equipment, paraphernalia and dried pot when they searched the property Thursday afternoon.

Each suspect was arrested on a charge of cultivating marijuana. They are:

Darin Sargent, 18, of Sabattus; Brandon Sargent, 20, of Sabattus; Ronald Parady, 35, of Sabattus; Thomas Blancato, 51, of Sabattus; and Melissa Chase, 50, of Sabattus.

“The Sabattus Police Department received information from several community residents which led to a formal investigation of the property located at 69 Lisbon Road and ultimately a search of the property” Police Chief Gary Baillargeon said.

Sabattus police said they were continuing to investigate the pot grow and that more charges may be forthcoming after a review by the Androscoggin County District Attorney’s Office.
