Jarod Norcross-Plourde netted the first goal of the contest in the first half for the Red Eddies (0-1). Tyler Morin and Jamal Ali provided the assists for Edward Little.

Goalie Gavin Patterson made 12 saves for the Eagles (0-1) in the losing effort.

Fryeburg 4, St. Dom’s 1

AUBURN — Will Davis scored a goal and an assist to contribute to Fryeburg’s 4-1 victory over St. Dom’s in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Nabeel got things started with the Raiders’ (1-0) first goal. Gunnar Gurnis and Max Kummer followed with a goal apiece.

Connor Samson booted the lone Saints’ goal in the first half.

Goalie Brandon Glover made four saves for St. Dom’s, while goalie Will Zeliff prevented seven for Fryeburg in the winning effort.

Mt. Blue 2, Brunswick 2, (2OT)

FARMINGTON — Sophomore forward Sam Smith recorded a pair of goals as Mt. Blue and Brunswick played to a double overtime 2-2 tie in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Niether team gave up in a back-and-forth battle . The Cougars (0-0-1) scored frist with a Smith goal in the first half.

Zach Gunther and Thomas Marshall played well on defense for the Dragons (0-0-1). Brunswick scored both of their goals in the second frame.

Goalie Jim Door made four saves for Brunswick, while goalie Tucker Carleton prevented seven for Mt. Blue.

Lewiston 3, Brewer 1

Lewiston scored twice in the second half to defeat Brewer, 3-1 in a KVAC contest.

Bilal Hersi scored Lewiston’s first goal while Asier Conguinor and Abdihakim Hussein scored in the second half. Yusuf Mohamed had a pair of assists wile Ridwan Ali had one assist in the victory.

Issaac Small scored the Witches’ lone goal in the first half.

Alex Rivet made four saves for Lewiston, while Ian Wood stopped 14 shots for Brewer.

Mt. Abram 0, Hall-Dale 0

SALEM — Hall-Dale had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks, but battled to a 0-0 tie with Mt. Abram in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Roadrunner (0-0-1) goalie Xavier Romanoski made 14 saves, while Bulldogs (0-0-1) goalie John Whitcomb had 11 saves.

Leavitt 3, Spruce Mountain 0

TURNER — Noah Lind netted a pair of goals to lead Leavitt to a 3-0 victory over Spruce Mountain in a season-opening MVC boys’ soccer tilt Friday. 

Garrett Addison also tallied for the Hornets (1-0) to complete the scoring. Seth Ramser, Brian Hewitt and Conner Cyr all chipped in with assists.

Lucas Perry needed only two saves to record the shutout, while Andrew Shaw (10) and Nate Goodine (12) combined to deflect 22 shots for the Phoenix (0-1). 

Lisbon 0, Mountain Valley 0 (2OT) 

RUMFORD — The Lisbon and Mountain Valley boys’ soccer squads each had opportunities to score Friday yet settled for a 0-0 deadlock after two overtime sessions. 

Veteran keeped Jonah Sautter made three saves for the Greyhounds (0-0-1), while Jacob Beauchesne turned aside nine shots for the Falcons.

Oak Hill 8, Dirigo 0

WALES — Nate Ashton and Evan Boston each registered a hat trick Friday to lead Oak Hill to a 8-0 romp over Dirigo.

Kaleb Morissette and Gage Thompson both tallied second-half goals for the Raiders (1-0) to complete the scoring. 

Marcus Bailey needed only three saves to preserve the shutout, while Colin Woodhead turned aside 23 shots between the posts for Dirigo (0-1).  

Field Hockey

Edward Little 6, Bangor 0

AUBURN — Marisa Carter led a trio of players with two goals each as Edward Little hustled to a 6-0 romp over Bangor in girls’ soccer action on Friday. 

Oceanna Chamberlain and Elizabeth Bellman also tallied twice for the Red Eddies (1-1) to complete the scoring. Kaylie Vallee chipped in with three assists, while Victoria Beliveau, Bella Coolombe and Kiara Fournier all had an assist.

Emmy Lashua and Delaney Morneau combined to make three saves for EL, while Kahia Maheux turned aside 16 shots for the Rams (0-2). 

Oxford Hills 5, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON — Haley Wakefield led a group of four players to register goals Friday as Oxford Hills hustled to a 5-0 victory over Lewiston.

Wakefield tallied twice to lead the Vikings with two goals, while Bailey Wood, Erin Morton and Katelynn Watkins also tallied to complete the scoring.

Anna Huff needed only four saves to notch the shutout, while Ashley Cronkhite turned aside nine shots between the posts for Lewiston (0-2).  

Greely 2, Gray-New Gloucester 1

GRAY — Maddy Perfetti found the net at the 4:03 mark of overtime to give Greely a 2-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in more early-season field hockey action Friday. 

Emma Dexter also tallied for Greely at 26:44 in the first half. Madie Post tallied the Patriots’ lone goal just under seven minutes into the second half. 

Kylie Rogers made 11 saves for Greely, while Alicia Credit turned aside seven shots between the posts for Gray-New Gloucester. 

Lisbon 8, Hall-Dale 0

LISBON — Senior forward Chase Collier scored a hat trick as Lisbon cruised to an 8-0 victory over Hall-Dale in field hockey action Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (0-1) battled in the first half, giving up just a pair of goals. But the Greyhounds (1-0) picked up the tempo in the second frame with six goals.

Sydney Plourde provided a pair of goals for Lisbon.

Goalie Mia Rollins rolled back 12 shots for Hall-Dale, while goalie Mikaylia Harnden stopped a pair to earn the win in net for Lisbon.

Girls’ soccer

Lisbon 2, Mountain Valley 1

RUMFORD — Emma Houle found the net on a penalty kick with 2:54 remaining to give Lisbon a 2-1 win over Mountain Valley in a MVC girls’ soccer tilt Friday. 

Kiley Merritt opened scoring for the Greyhounds (1-0) when she converted a pass from Jordan Ott. Abby Mazza tallied an unassisted goal for the Falcons (0-1) early in the second half.

Ali Sult made 15 saves for Lisbon, while Lauren Sterling turned aside 21 shots between the posts for Mountain Valley. 

Edward Little 4, Mt. Ararat 1

AUBURN — Olivia Jensen netted a pair of goals Friday to lead Edward Little to a 4-1 victory over Mt. Ararat in an early-season KVAC girls’ soccer tilt. 

Piper Norcross and Grace Beaudette also tallied for the Red Eddies (1-0) to complete the scoring. Kathline McDonald tallied the Eagles’ (0-1) lone goal. 

Taylor Depot made four saves for Edward Little, while Kate Garand deflected six shots for Mt. Ararat. 

Brunswick 4, Mt. Blue 0

BRUNSWICK — Maeve Arthur registered a hat trick Friday to lead Brunswick to a 4-0 victory over Mt. Blue. 

Kira Walpow also tallied for the Dragons to complete the scoring. 

Beth Labbe needed only one save to notch the shutout, while Addie Schanz turned aside eight shots for the Cougars. 

Oak Hill 5, Dirigo 0

WALES — Charlotte Waterman led a group of three players to record goals on Friday as Oak Hill hustled to a 5-0 girls’ soccer rout over Dirigo. 

Waterman and Rylea-Mae Swan led the Raiders (1-0) with two goals each, while Kierra Rolston also tallied to complete the scoring. Sydney Drew chipped in with an assist for Oak Hill.

Anna Dodge made nine saves for the Raiders, while Mackenzie Ladd deflected six shots for Dirigo.  

Poland 2, Old Orchard Beach 0

POLAND — Tia Cote scored both goals as Poland dispatched Old Orchard Beach 2-0 in girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Katelyn Greene and Emma Galipeau assisted on Cote’s two goals for the Knights (1-0).

Goalie Tiffany Leclair made 11 saves for the Seagulls (0-1), while goalie Madison Simard stopped eight to earn the win in net for Poland.

Monmouth 3, Madison 2

FARMINGDALE — Senior forwrad Haley Fletcher scored the first and third goal as Monmouth clipped Madison 3-2 in MVC girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Fullback sweeper Abby Allen had a fine performance keeping the ball away from the goalie for much of the game for the Mustangs (1-0).

Madeline Wood threatened on offense with many fine shots for the Bulldgos (0-1).

Goalie Lauren Hay made 15 saves for Madison, while Katie Harris prevented 19 shots to earn the win in net for Monmouth.

Lewiston 2, Brewer 1

LEWISTON — Megan St. Cyr scored a pair of goals to lead Lewiston to a 2-1 victory over Brewer in girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

The Witches (0-1) scored the first goal of the game with 23:12 remaining in the first half. The Blue Devils (1-0) tied it up with 50 seconds remaining as St.Cyr finished a cross from Lynch.

Lewiston scored the go ahead goal with 6:55 remaining in regulation as St.Cyr booted a rebound off a cross from Dacia Bail.

Goalie Mandy Cuskelly made 12 saves for Brewer, while Kallie May turned back six shots to earn the win in net for Lewiston.
