Members are still welcome

PARIS — Under the direction of Dennis Boyd Jr., director of choirs at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and middle school, the Christmas for Teens Benefit Choir will begin rehearsals at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The choir is open to anyone 12 and up, and those interested may contact Dennis Boyd Jr. at d.boyd@msad17.org .

Christmas for Teens is the only organization in the Oxford Hills area that helps low income and homeless students over the age of 13.

Long-time director Cynthia Wescott is stepping down from the project, and a new team approach is in place for this year, led by Boyd and Dan Allen, well known for the previous productions of “Christmas in a Small Town” and “Hills Alive Chorale.”  In addition, joining the creative team will be Loren Pinkham, a junior at OHCHS, playing piano for the choir.

“Tapping into the years of experience Dan brings to the table will help us create a memorable experience for everyone involved in this process,”  Boyd said.

The final concert will be held on Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mark S. Eastman Auditorium at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.  Ticket information will be released by the end of October.
