Ellie Espling is running for re-election to the Maine House of Representatives, and I am proud to support her. Representing the people of New Gloucester and Poland together for the past two years, I see every day how hard she works for the people of our shared communities.
As a fiscally responsible leader, she helped pass welfare reform, prohibiting the purchase of alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets with Maine welfare dollars.
As an advocate for senior citizens, she led the effort to ensure adequate funding for services supporting those seniors who wish to remain in their homes.
As an experienced mother, she has stood up to support more local control in the education system, pushing back against the over-standardization of schools.
Ellie Espling is the right woman for the job. This November, residents of New Gloucester and Poland can keep her working for them.
