1924 – 2016
YORK — Laurette N. Girard 92, a longtime resident of York, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, at York Hospital.
She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Chisholm to birth parents Hermidas and Alice Pomerleau. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Louie and Marie Ange (Brochu) Pelchat in Lawrence, Mass.
She was a very patient person who loved to listen and reminisce about life experiences. She was a devout Catholic who loved animals, entertaining, gardening and taking walks to the Wiggly Bridge. She worked for the York Board of Appeals for 18 years and was active in the York community.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Laurette was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Andrew J. Girard; three sisters, Delima, Gloria and Lillian; and a brother, Robert.
