AUBURN — Eric Trump, son of Republican presidential contender Donald Trump, will campaign in Auburn on Thursday.
“It’s going to be a really great event,” said Jacob French, a GOP field organizer.
French said the event will take place after 2 p.m. at Republican headquarters at 120 Center St. He said it will likely be open to the public.
Eric Trump is the GOP candidate’s second son. He has been campaigning for his father across the country for many months, including making a number of television appearances.
Trump is the executive vice president of development and acquisitions for The Trump Organization.
Trump and his wife, Lara, are slated to make two stops in the area.
First, they’re expected to appear at 1 p.m. at Ricker Hill Orchards, 3 Ricker Road in Turner.
The couple are scheduled to reach the Republican headquarters in Auburn at 2:45 p.m. before heading on to an appearance in Bangor.
The candidate himself flirted with a stop in Maine on Thursday, but gave up the idea earlier this week.
Maine’s 2nd Congressional District remains a hotly contested battleground in the presidential election. Trump is hoping to win Maine, which would secure three of the four electoral votes he has a shot at nailing down in the state.
