RANGELEY — Winners of the annual Rangeley Oktoberfest Brat & Strudel Contest on Sept. 29 were announced Oct. 2 during Rangeley Oktoberfest Weekend.
Local chefs prepared their best bratwurst and strudel, and their entries were judged by both a panel of expert judges and popular vote from nearly 100 attendees. The expert judges were Klara Haines, Gerlinde Stretz and Hans Stretz.
Many visitors picked up a copy of the Rangeley Oktoberfest brochure and passport and collected stamps at participating businesses. All stamped passports were entered into a random drawing for the grand prize, donated by Classic Provisions.
There were many activities available throughout the weekend, including the Maine Forestry Museum’s 23rd Annual Apple Festival & horse-drawn buggy rides.
