WINDHAM — Portland musician Sean Slaughter will appear with his band Master Stroke in a Queen tribute concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Windham Performing Arts Center, 406 Gray Road.

The Windham Chamber Singers will be special guests.

Slaughter, veteran of the Portland music scene, has put together an all-star lineup that promises to rock the house.

“We have heard so many fantastic things about the Windham Chamber Singers. We are honored and flattered that we have been invited to perform with them,” Slaughter said.

Slaughter was a finalist in The Queen Extravaganza in 2011, a contest organized by the surviving members of Queen to produce a touring concert show designed to take the music and live experience of Queen and bring it to generations of fans.

Also appearing on the program will be University of Southern Maine voice professor Elisabeth Marshall. Marshall is an alumna of the Windham Chamber Singers and will sing “Barcelona” in a duet with Slaughter. The song was recorded by Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen, with Spanish opera star Montserrat Caballé.

“This will certainly be the Windham Chamber Singers as you have never heard them before,” Richard Nickerson, Windham Chamber Singers conductor, said.

Tickets are $10 to $20 for reserved seating and can be purchased by calling 207-892-1810, ext. 2875, or by visiting www.windhamchambersingers.com.
