FARMINGTON — Eight properties the town foreclosed on as of Sept. 27 for unpaid taxes or sewer fees will be put out to bid.

Selectmen Andy Buckland, Mike Fogg and board Chairman Joshua Bell made the decision Tuesday night, Town Manager Richard Davis said. Selectman Matt Smith abstained from voting because he may submit bids on some of them, Davis said. Selectman Stephan Bunker was absent.

The properties are on Perham and Philbrick streets; Temple, Clover Mill, Holley and Wilton roads; and Homestead Lane.

Collectively, about $53,000 is owed, according to information Treasurer LucyAnn Cook provided to selectmen.

Selectmen took four properties off the original list because either the owners have made some earnest effort to get caught up or more research needs to be done, Davis said.

Two properties that had not been initially on the list to be considered to be sold were added, he said.
