LEWISTON — Two annual awards were presented at Tri-County Mental Health Services’ annual meeting and art exhibit on Oct. 18 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn.
The Giving Voice Award recognizes an individual or group for extraordinary efforts on behalf of consumers. This year’s recipient was Ray Cote, a local musician who has been volunteering his time for three years playing music with a group of consumers from the Social Learning Center and taking part in the annual performance of Inspired Voices, which features Tri-County consumers’ performances.
The Inspiration Award is given to a Tri-County Mental Health Services staff member who demonstrates excellence and exemplary commitment to serving clients and achieving the agency’s mission. This year’s recipient was Medical Director Dr. Tomas Sneed.
The evening also featured keynote speaker Richard Munschy, Psy.D., who spoke about multi-systemic therapy, a service offered to adolescents by Tri-County.
