NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, 199 Main St., has announced its November calendar. All activities are free to those impacted by cancer.

Drop-in hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The center will be closed on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and for Thanksgiving Nov. 24 and 25.

Volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or to find resources. Brochures and the lending library are available for use.

Stampin’ Up Tuesday: 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. Kathy will provide materials and instruction to make a variety of cards.

Yoga Warriors: Wednesdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30, at Posabilities, 15 Tannery St. This gentle yoga class will support healthy living for individuals facing the challenges of cancer through gentle movement and breath, supportive restorative yoga postures and guided meditation and relaxation. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling 207-890-7063. Same-day registration is available by arriving 15 minutes early.

Knitting and Crocheting: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays. On Nov. 10, Shirley will introduce the class to Tunisian knitting.

Coloring for Adults: 1 to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Coloring books and various markers will be available.

Yoga for Wellness: 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays. Either Kat Larsen or Sherri will teach the class at the center, which will include breathing, movement and relaxing meditation while seated or standing. 

Cards and Games: 1 to 2 p.m. Fridays. Various games are available or participants may bring one of their own to get a game started.

Chair Yoga: 2 to 3 p.m. Fridays. Sherri leads the class in chair yoga. No mats are necessary, and chairs are provided.

Community Cancer Cut and Sew: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 9 and 23, and 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Sew Orchid Design, 316 Main St. Participants will cut out material for bonnets and other comfort items needed by the center. Sewing kits are assembled for people to take home to sew or sew them while they’re there.

Guided Meditation Gathering: 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9. Susan Kane will lead the meditation, which promotes relaxation.

Reiki 1: 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15. Reiki is a gentle, hands-on technique intended to relieve stress and discomfort and to complement the medical treatments prescribed by physicians. Charlotte LaBelle of Teresia Reiki will be the instructor. Individual sessions may be scheduled with LaBelle between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Call 207-890-7063 to schedule.

Crafting with Barbara: 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Sew Orchid Design, 316 Main St. Barbara Daigle will teach a series of non-sewing or beginner sewing crafts for participants to complete.
